The MSCA project UTOPIAE will be the training network that addresses the challenge of finding the ideal compromise between enhancing reliability and safety and reducing resource utilisation.
At the final conference, the project consortium presented results and products developed with the aims to (re)establish a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of overweight and obese children and adults.

We are hosting the kick-off meeting of the H2020 Twinning project SYNERGY, where also the partners form TH KÃ¶ln and UniversitÃ© de Lille are present.
Our department is coordinating a H2020 Twinning SYNERGY project. Its overall goal is to overcome the limitations of the current research in multi-objective optimization. The multi-objective optimisation problems can be solved more efficiently if parallelisation is used to execute the simulations simultaneously and if the simulations are partly replaced by accurate surrogate models.

New EU project starts to establish a research infrastructure on Food and Health Consumer Behaviour and Lifestyle
JSI has joined RICHFIELDS, which objective is to design a research infrastructure that will serve as a distributed data-platform to collect, align and share innovative and existing data, in order to enable researchers, policymakers and other stakeholders to develop, evaluate and implement effective food and health strategies both at the level of individuals and populations.
We collaborated in specification of Pilot Monitorih System from MedicoApps that will monitor pilots psychophysical condition. This will contribute significantly to pilot and flight safety.
Our department won the 1st Prize at the "Science at work" video competition. We presented our research work and results on the "Preserving health".
At the TETRACOM Workshop during the HiPEAC CSW, Milan, Sept. 23 2015, we participated as one of the eight Technology Transfer Projects âsuccess storiesâ reporting the results on the Non-invasive bio impedance sensor design based on wide bandwidth ring resonator (BIOMeD project).
16 September 2015 marks the start of the EU Horizon 2020 funded project "Resource Efficient Food and dRink for the Entire Supply cHain" (REFRESH). 26 partners from 12 European countries and China will work towards the project's goal to contribute towards the objectives of reducing food waste across Europe by 30% by 2025, reducing waste management costs, and maximizing the value from unavoidable food waste and packaging materials. REFRESH will run from July 2015 â June 2019.
From 29th June to 1st July we are organizing a working meeting of QuaLiFY, which is a 2.5 Mio EU-funded project using results from previous EU-funded projects on food composition and intake, and the relationships between who we are (genotype, phenotype) and what we eat (nutritional status).

Libra is a pocket-size scale aimed to support diabetic patients in self-management of the disease. It operates in combination with the Android mobile application Nutri that counts carbohydrates in food and calculates bolus insulin. Nutri can also be wirelessly connected with a glucose meter. The project was supported by the Slovenian Ministry of Health.
